This is one of the most useful continued learning courses that I have taken. Allie took the time to individualize the learning experience to each person. I really loved that she gave me the time to each class to practice each item rather than just providing a lecture and notes. I felt that was very useful and have started implementing things I have learned from the course into my personal life and into my daily practice.

I am so glad I found this course! I was able to review my own values now that I'm a parent of a young child and how I was moving toward or away from those values. I ended up job searching, quitting my job, and moving to another position that allowed me to move toward my personal values. Clinically, I hope to start using ACT ideas, specifically identifying parent and client values and facilitating committed action toward those values.

ACT-U stands out as a distinctive course because it encourages you to apply what you learn to yourself. The course was well-organized, and utilizing the workbook after each session provided highly advantageous in solidifying course concepts and enhancing self-awareness of ACT processes in my own life. Allie demonstrated a high level of knowledge and compassion in delivering the key elements of ACT in a concise manner. I strongly recommend this course for gaining a fundamental understanding of ACT and learning how to apply it to your own life.

I very much enjoyed this course as I was able to learn how ACT works by performing the techniques on myself, which better prepared before using it with clients and coworkers. Most ACT seminars I attend at conferences are too short to walk away with an understanding of how it can work, but this course gave me a great foundation for ACT that I hope to build on in the future.

This course truly changed the way I think. I had heard about ACT in my grad program, and remember thinking that it sounded super interesting, but didn't know how to learn more about it. About a year later, I came across this workshop and I am so happy that I stumbled upon it. I loved not only learning about the practice of ACT, but also learning how to apply it. I feel like I find myself now in my everyday life applying it - whether it be at work or in my personal life.

Knowledge is powerful. If you ever attempted to work on yourself by getting help and the "help" left you feeling like you're still stuck in the same spot with nothing but some expensive nice sounding words; get this course. The very first few lesson with Allie, did more work for me than months of other services I've tried. Nothing resonated with me as much as ACT. I went into this experience hoping to help my work and instead found ways to improve every area in my life.

Allie Newell offered an amazing ACT workshop. I learned about her courses on Instagram and decided to try it! She is professional, knowledgeable in the material and gentle with her teachings, offering an open-minded and flexible approach during each session. Not only did we learn about ACT, for those who were in interested in sharing, she also helped us open up about personal strugles and how to implement ACT in our daily lives. These sessions were fun, interesting, and therapeutic.

It is very apparent how passionate Allie is about ACT. This helped me to feel safe and supported during this class and lead to me learning so, so, so, much more than I expected. This courses exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed having the extended course, it felt like the topics and each part of the hexaflex wasn't rushed. We had a week to focus on one component. I loved the last class where we pulled it all together and really made it all make sense. I learned more than I could have ever imaged and want to continue to learn more! I would recommend this to anyone.

Like many of you, I knew applying ACT to my clinical practice was going to help clients achieve incredible outcomes...Outcomes that were not possible with the traditional behavior change methods,
I spent hours reading books, articles, and watching CEUs, desperately trying to understand how to apply ACT to my practice....but something was missing. And then it clicked. ACT isn't something only to be learned, it's something that must be experienced, integrated...lived.
Once I dove head first, applying ACT to my own life and watching my life transform before my eyes, everything started to make sense.
And I want to help you do the same.
I am the owner and founder of Balanced Behavior Consulting, an ABA and ACT based private therapy practice located in Scottsdale, Arizona. I bring over 10 years of experience working with individuals of all ages and abilities with a deep passion for using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) to help both practictioners and clients navigate life's challenges and build lives aligned with their core values.
After discovering ACT in the midst of 2020, I began integrating it's principles into my own life and professional practice. I quickly saw the changes, not only in myself, but in my clients, were profound. This transformation inspired me to dedicate the following years to studying ACT deeply and evolving my practice to reach and support more individuals through this powerful framework.
In 2023, ACT-U was created out of the belief that in order for practicioners to meaningfully apply ACT with their clients, the work must begin with themselves. When clincians embody ACT principles personally, they are better equipped to recognize where their clients (and even staff) are stuck, fused, or disconnected from their values.
To date, ACT-U has served over 100 participants, including BCBAs, RBTs, executives and professionals across various fields - supporting them in better understanding their internal expereinces, emotional responses, and the impact these have on their daily life. I am passionate about disseminating ACT within the field of ABA and am excited to continue supporting practictioners in their personal growth and professional impact.
Results are subject to the time, attendance, and effort you put into this course. ACT is an experiential treatment, so your engagement will determine your results.
